Zeeland

The province Zeeland is located in the south-west of The Netherlands. I decided to visit Zeeland because I was interested in seeing Oosterscheldekering. I was really impressed to see the dam.  It was our firs trip with a tent. I don't know the name of the camping place anymore, but it was really nice and clean.

The dance of water and fire

Water dancing with fire you can experience in Efteling. In the winter the water show is even more spectacular, because light joins this beautiful dance. I haven't been to the Winter Efteling but I would like to see it once. I can imagine it's an amazing experience.

Kayaking on the Krutynia river

Krutynia river trial in the Masurian Lake District is about 100 km long and goes through lakes, streams and forest. The flow of the river is slow, you can enjoy it even if you are not experienced kayaker. Today I show you very small piece of this beautiful water route.

Mudflat walking

The Dutch Wadden Sea was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2009. One of the activities around the Wadden Sea you can participate is the mudflat walking. A guide for this recreation is mandatory and the routes are organized. The walk has to be timed with the tides. I participated mudflat walking from Holwerd to Ameland in July 2012. It was an unique activity. It was said the route is about 10 km long and it takes about 3 hours of walk. My group did it in about 4,5 hours. In the beginning the ground was really muddy, it was difficult to take the feet out of the mud. Later was the ground sandy but the water level was higher. Sometimes I had to hold my backpack above the head because the water was chest high. At the last part I had so much pain in my legs I could hardly walk. When we arrived at the island I had almost tears in my eyes, I was so happy I could rest. After short relaxation and refreshing we walked further across the green Ameland to the boat. I'm very glad it w...

Afsluitdijk

Afsluitdijk it's one of the most impressive water management constructions in Holland and it's more than just the floods protection. It is 32 km long and it's the longest dike in The Nederlands. It's also the motorway which connects the provinces of Friesland and North Holland and separates the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea.

North Sea, the Dutch coast

I like to relax near the water. Being around water and listening to its sound makes me calmer. Water, especially sea, reduces stress level. It helps to relax body and mind and makes breathing easier. I always enjoy the sea, no matter what the season.  Do you like to sit near the water and just observe the movement of the water and listen to its sound?
