Noordseeküste

Photos are taken in November 2017, when we went for a short trip to the German North Sea Coast. As you can see it was very cold and windy, but the place was nice to get some rest far from the cities.

Lanzarote part 5 - Timanfaya and La Geria

Timanfaya National Park in one of the main attractions on the island. The moon-like volcanic landscape we could admire from a guided tour, because an independent car trip is not allowed in the park.  The best wine on the island is produced in La Geria. The vineyards on the volcanic landscape is an amazing view. The grapes are protected by semi-circular stone walls. La Geria is located in the center of Lanzarote, nearby the villages Uga and Yaiza.

Lanzarote part 4 - El Golfo

The village El Golfo is located in the east of Lanzarote. It is famous because of the green lagoon, Lago Verde. The combination of green lake surrounded by volcanic lava and separated  from the blue ocean by black beach is spectacular and really unique.

Lanzarote part 3 - Los Hervideros and Salinas de Janubio

Los Hervideros - lava fields and cliffs located South of Timanfaya National Park. Very spectacular, especially in a windy day when the waves crashing against the cliffs.   Salinas de Janubio - salt flats located South of Los Hervideros. The colors of the place are amazing. Unfortunately I wasn't able to show it at the photos, I'm not so good photographer I would like to be.

Lanzarote part 2 - Mirador del Rio

Mirador del Rio is a viewpoint in the north of Lanzarote. The view is extraordinary, no more words needed.

Lanzarote part 1 - Playa Blanca

Our holiday in 2016 were very special, we took our daughter for the first time to other climate, also she was travelling for the first time in a plane. Lanzarote is an island of volcanic origin and has some spectacular moon-like landscapes. During our holiday on the island we stayed in Playa Blanca, the town in the south part of Lanzarote. On the island we were travelling by car. In the lunch time we came back to Playa Blanca, because our daughter had to get some sleep. Because the island is not big, we were able to visit even the northernmost part of the island by car in a one-day trip.

Crete part 4 - Spinalonga

The island Spinalonga is located in the north part of Crete. It's mainly known as the last leper colony in Europe. Today is the island uninhabited.  As I wrote before, we were on Crete in October and the weather was good to take some trips on the island. It was too cold to take a sunbaths and to swim in the sea. There was also raining a lot. We rent a quad and later a car, so we traveled on the island as we liked. I was 4 months pregnant with a lot of nausea and morning sickness. I didn't like the weather and I didn't like the food, I think my pregnancy was the main reason. Apart from that, Crete is a really nice island, but I like to swim in the sea a lot and that's what I was missing on this trip.  Have you ever been to Crete? What is your experience about the weather, accommodation and food? Would you like to come back there again?
