Inland water in The Netherlands

It's fascinating how the Dutch manage water. The Netherlands is plenty of water. Water shapes the land and culture and that's why I begin my Dutch photo series with this subject. It's difficult to imagine landscape in Holland without water and it's relations. Just think about the polders, pumping stations and windmills, dikes and dams, harbors, canals, underwater tunnels, bridges and boats. Today I show you inland waters in The Netherlands. All photos were taken in the years 2007-2011. I used Canon EOS 400D digital reflex camera with EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 lens.

What do you think about how the Dutch handle their water?
